The question when considering a 600 HP full drivetrain rebuild is: why? Other than for the novelty of it is there a reason? Is the CD4 chassis so good that it can handle or deserve a race drivetrain?

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to have a monster. If there was a shop nearby with the expertise, I'd absolutely investigate what it would take to drive a monster. I'm young and dumb enough to give up the luxuries of life to be able to daily drive that monster. But at some point you have to stop and think, "why not just buy a Hellcat?"
Could I go buy a Hellcat with tons of power off the bat? Sure. Absolutely. Would it be more cost effective and be backed by a warranty? Of course. Is it more sensible? duh.

But if you're considering yourself an enthusiast, sensible and practical are words that just aren't in your vocabulary. Why build a 600hp Fusion Sport?
  • For the looks on Hellcat owners' faces when an often overlooked Ford sedan blows their doors off while they blow up their rear diff from a dig.
  • For having something that is the epitome of a sleeper
  • For being able to run 10s on a Saturday and take the family to church on Sunday
Now what would this actually take? I have no clue, but I'm intrigued. Someone do this please (I'm poor and definitely can't afford to dump this much money into a daily that's still partly owned by the bank lol).

We said the same thing about sleepers with the Chevrolet SS, Pontiac G8, Ford Crown Vic/Marauder, Impala SS/9C1 Caprice, etc... and they were all eventually discontinued like the Fusion/MKZ. It'd be nice to have a better trans in the Fusion Sport, and often I wish I could just get a manual transmission in it instead.

I wish they would have mated up that nice 10 speed they put in the mustang.

That would mean losing the AWD tho. Personally, out of the available & compatible Ford transmissions, I'd take our current 6F55 over the 8Fxx family, 100%. Not a fan of it in our Edge (plus the 2-3 gear spacing in the 8Fxx drives me nuts way more).

I finally got a chance to drive the Fusion Sport today after the winter season... I flashed it with one of my latest tunes and took her out for a spin. The WOT shifts were all on the spot, no hanging or anything. Weird.
