That's the way all Fusions come, there's really no reason to have anything there.

I installed this from a 2017 Lincoln MKZ. No more scraped knuckles and maybe a little less noise.

I don't want to say that there are thousand of reasons to have this cover, however from my perspective as a consumer it look that trunk of the car is not complete and even considering that you can cut your hands on this raw metal, it should be covered somehow.
As you can see, @Flew found at least two reasons ;)

Additionally, my Grandpa always said that: if you don't know the reason why something happen - for sure is is all about the cash ;) and I think this is the case.
Considering how many FUSIONs, Mondeo's were produced all over the world we can only imagine how many cash they saved.

Sorry, no.
Picked it up off ebay for 50.00
Took a gamble that it would fit.
..it does, perfectly.

Hi gang. If no one here can come up with the part number, simply stop by or call (preferably stop by, you'll usually get better service) the Parts Department of your local Lincoln or Ford Dealer, tell them what you are looking for, and ask them for the part number and a price. Then you can negotiate price with them, or take the part number and online shop at the usual online Ford parts sellers.

And/or check with your local Salvage Yards for any wrecked MKZ's.

Good luck.

Also, every time I over load my trunk with tools or metal samples, the huge magnets on those woofers grabs something as I’m going down the road and the obnoxious sound it makes will make your hair stand on end!

Hi Wojtas. I realize you and some other members are located overseas and may not/do not have access to a Lincoln Dealership (but maybe have access to a Ford Dealership?). Heck, some in the US do not even have easy access to a Lincoln Dealer. ;)

That is why I did not quote you, since my reply was not directed to those with no Lincoln (or Ford) Dealer access. However, there were also others here asking where/how to get that trunk trim piece who do have access to a Lincoln or Ford Dealer.

So on the same subject, I took the time to look up the part number on an online Ford parts distributor, and if I have the correct part, it seems to be listed in the "Interior Trim > Rear Body" section as the...
Upper Cover - Ford (FP5Z-5445443-CA)
I believe that is the trim piece, and not the sheet metal package tray/shelf itself, It certainly seems to be, from the description..."Carpet Rear Package Tray Pan".
But i
t is a bit difficult to precisely determine from the exploded diagram. However, a quick call to a Lincoln or Ford Dealer can settle that question, for those with access to one or the other
.

If you have access to a Ford Dealer in Poland, you can check to see if the Mondeo uses that part on their upper trim level vehicles. It would not surprise me if they do.

Keep us updated and good luck.
