Has anyone bought wheels and tires for winter yet? I've always had good luck with online ordering, no tax free shipping and huge choices, but they don't list the Sport yet and said i'd have to try a set before ordering.

IMO my stock Goodyear seem to be way quieter than my ws80 blizzaks.

I ended up taking a chance on these Blizzak LM001 last year. They handled admirably the one time I had them in deep snow and really well in light snow and icy conditions. In cold dry conditions I would be hard pressed to tell you which was better between these and the all seasons in the warmer weather. I expect they are going to be really close to those Pirelli. I went with the Blizzak's over the pirelli because of the load rating and availability. I have also had good luck with Pirelli performance winter tires in the past.

I've been looking hard at the LM001 tires and the SottoZero 3 tires. Thanks for your review on the LM001! I'm currently waiting for a sale at Tire Rack. They had one in September and I drug my feet. I'm regretting that now. :(

Has anyone used the Schrader EZ Sensors and cloned their factory sensors? I did this on my Subaru and it eliminated me having to reprogram when swapping tires. Essentially, I had two identical sets of sensors, in two different sets of wheels that I could swap back and forth and the TPMS computer never new the difference.

I have not used those Sensors. When I purchased those tires I also got wheels from tirerack. I had them include TPS sensors in the package. I didn't have to do anything special other then drive the car around for a while for it to pick them up.

Anyone who is using the Costco or other steel wheels - what are you torquing them down to? It is supposed to be 150 ft lbs, but that seems excessive... I just had my costco wheels checked out and one was actually having the lugs cut into the wheel... I brought it in to costco to have them check on a vibration at higher speeds and that's what they found. The tire tech did not like me using the factory lug nuts as they are really tapered, making it so only a small portion of the lug is camping down on the wheel. So he got me a set of ones that aren't as tapered and they seemed to hold better... Anyone successful with the factory lugs on a steel wheel? I was told that it was ok. It looks like I'm going to be replacing one wheel now, which is weird because the other ones were ok.

I have just joined the forum. I traded my 2015 Focus ST with the Mountains Performance 275 setup for a 2017 Fusion Sport. For both cars I kept the summer and winter tires the same size on nice rims. The winter rims are on for 6 months so why not have something that looks good. Also in southern Ontario cold roads and ice are usually more of a problem than snow.

Just got some Blizzak WS80s (225/50-18) on Sport Edition A9s from Tirerack and put them on today. I was expecting a trip to the dealer to activate the TPMS like the last two sets of aftermarket wheels I had on my Focus, but sure enough, they registered correctly after a short drive on the highway automatically.

I still haven't gotten around to getting my snows, but after my commute yesterday, I'm even less in a hurry.

Chicago area got hit with black ice everywhere yesterday. Cars sliding at every turn. About 10 different Multi car pile ups on my way to work. This Fusion (with contis) was solidly planted the whole trip. Not even a hint of slide or slip. Just another ordinary commute for me.
