Has anyone bought wheels and tires for winter yet? I've always had good luck with online ordering, no tax free shipping and huge choices, but they don't list the Sport yet and said i'd have to try a set before ordering.

Alright just to help out with search for people. Since there is no proper info out there for the Fusion Sport, what i did is I ordered a bunch of rims from Costco and in the process to try them on so far, I received only the 17 in Gemini Rims.
As you can see from the pics its possible to put them on and even bolt them on if you feel like it, but they will rub on the huge caliper we have, from this it is evident that none of the 17in ones will fit at least in alloy, and i bet any of the 18in will fit for sure, the gap is going to be the size difference between 17 and 18 in rims, which is definitely acceptable.

Now i have 2 steelies coming in 17in and 18in, once they arrive ill check them out and post the results, if anyone is interested :)

I suspect a lot of us will be interested. I'm not looking for the fanciest wheels for winter tires, but they have to fit -- with a little space for the crud that builds up in the snow/ice/salt. Also looking for something a little narrower.

Alright steelies are in, 17 (the one with bigger wholes) doesn't fit completely so definitely a no no. 18in fits perfectly , i couldn't make a pic with the gap, but as a refernce the gap is about the same as the gap between the spoke of the stock rim and the caliper so around 5mm.

I really appreciate your doing the research on this. I assume you're planning to go with this solution for your winter tires. I can't find them on the COSTCO web site. Is there a part number, other than the sticker in the photo? I assume they'll accommodate narrower tires than the stock rims (a good thing in the snow). I'll be interested to hear what tires and TPMS solution you choose.

im looking at canadian costco
http://www.costco.ca/Steel-Wheels.product.100018256.html
item number is X48508, im pretty sure the box said they are 7.5in width and assuming that you going with 225/50r18 it should fit no problem.

i think i will go with a alloy rim though just for the resale value, considering the deal i found will go through.

tire wise i will get costcos Michelin X-Ice 225/50r18, for winters the speed rating doesnt matter but costco is very pushy about the weight rating and with 96 on our car doesnt leave much for choice, i chose costco for the warranty(potholes and such) also Michelin has 60k thread warranty which is nice. buddy at work is getting Nokian

tpms, apparently its just a message that the car will show and prolly some always on light, but im not shelling out 400$ for them, so not going to get them.

Im not gambling with these tires. Winter here in the CNY can get very hairy

On my current car, I didn't, and because I had a long enough of a drive, the thing would go off on every trip. If I had a shorter trip, I probably still wouldn't.

I have however heard that some cars can "de-tune" the car to try and avoid damage to drive trains, etc. when a tire is showing low pressure. Not sure if the Fusion Sport will do it, but I have heard some of the newer performance cars can do that.

Hey guys just picked up my '17 sport and just letting you know what I'm doing. Just picked up a set of 18" off a focus ST with included TPS and will be mounting 235/45-18. looking at the Bridgestone's LM001 Michelin Xice3 or the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2. I like the Nokian but the 60 K warranty is also nice in the Michelins. I'll update once I get them mounted.

Thanks for the info on the rim size as this was the main question.

Tpms on winter wheels is good idea. Driving in the snow it's good to know the tire pressures

Every test of winter tires I've ever seen, the Bridgestone Blizzaks do the best. I had them on my MR2 when they first came out in 1986 and have used them on every hi performance car I've owned since. The wear is not happy, but (for example) I've been able to drive a tuned GTO for 3 winters in Wisconsin and only had to switch to the van twice...

Looks like Tire Rack may have finally gotten their hands on a production Sport. If you search for wheels for the 2017 Sport, the result is "We're sorry. We don't currently have products for your vehicle in the category you selected." It used to show wheels down to 16", which we all know won't fit.

You guys going the aftermarket route, could we get the offset specs of the wheels you're buying? Giving us just the diameter and width isn't much to go by

I might be partially responsible for Tire Rack putting that message on their site, I was originally told my 16" rims/snows I ordered for my '16 Fusion would fit. I had a lot of back and forth calls/e-mails and I even sent pics to convince them that 16" will no way fit. The sales guy insisted I must have a "one off" model that they built with hybrid brakes! I mentioned that every '17 Fusion Sport has these brakes he didn't seem to believe me. He then advised me that 17" would fit, and removed 16" as an option from their web page. When I called again to let them know the 17" rims don't fit either the "head of the fitment department" had them put that on the web page and said they have a 17 Sport to "scan" for proper fit. I'm sending them back the 17" rims/tires Monday and depending on how the customer service is, I may order 18" rims/snows next or just go buy local. I have order from Tire Rack for years with no problems before. I did contact the customer service department to let them know I was tired of doing the fit testing for Tire Rack, we will see what they do about it. Glad I didn't wait for first snow to test fit!

I saw a Blue Sport at a nearby Tires Plus yesterday with dealer tags. I was tempted to run in and ask if it was a customer car so I could possibly save them some hassle. They looked pretty busy so i ended up just driving by creepily and going home.
