So the woman has a 14 Escape with 82K on it. 3 years ago, I printed out
the floodford 7 year 125K warantee info. She ended up somehow buying
a 84 month, 36K maint plan for over a grand. Got nothing out of that,
since I do all the maint (UGH!!). "Luckily" problems with Escape
were drivetrain related.

Anyway, both our DD have to be under warantee, have too many other
car projects and house to take care of. So the options are

1. She gets new 2.0 Escape SE in red (which she has always wanted).
2. She gets Sport (which is way nicer in every way over escape, except seating height),
I sell EVO8 and use money from that and not buying escape, get RS3 to combine
DD and track car into one.

Downside is I can get as aggressive as I want with EVO8 (brake pads, tires, susp ect..),
but upside is it's way easier not to shift on the track. I went for second time recently,
and heel/toe, under max braking, while trying to corner @ limit, is a really hard
(and this is paced laps, so not even going ALL out yet).

Decisions..............:D

Says she really still wants an SUV, so that settles that
(can't argue really, I have 9 vehicles and that is her only one).
May get an RS3 later, if I get really into these track events.

In keeping with this sections theme, don't think the Sport
does anything even in the RS3's league (cept maybe ride quality) HAHAHA!!

Would kind of be a waste. Even my Sport would
be way more than she would ever use.

It would also be another 20 grand over left over
17 escapes, which are getting discounted almost as
much as our Sports. We are getting the 2.0 again,
at least.........

You have NINE Vehicles? And you're considering a RS3?!? If you are such a baller I'm surprised you ever even got the fusion sport to begin with

My thought is if you really want the RS 3, sell more than just the Evo and bam you have your RS3.

I'm not sure what being "a baller" means, but I
like to have ONE vehicle that I don't care about and can take in the snow/salt.
The fact that Sports are so cheap is why I got one. Some of my vehicles I like alot,
but are not worth much if I were to sell, like

79 Bronco I use to tow my boat. Maybe worth 4-5 grand
86 Capri 5.0, maybe worth 6-8.
59 T-bird, maybe worth 10 grand (these are just not worth as much
as the baby birds, 55-57).

So getting rid of those 3, and Sport/EVO8 is about
what I would have to do to get an RS3. As bad as the RS3 is,
will it alone be as much fun/usable as those 5 other vehicles.

Probably not, but having a DD, 10 second capable, and road course
ready, all in one package would be really cool. Now would I have a warantee
if I modded it and what would it cost without warantee if I blew it up.
As an example, I got a brand new factory Mitsu 5 spd for EVO8
for $3400 (I installed), doubt you get those prices for anything german.

Audi's modded car warranty is not as friendly as Fords. Once you get blacklisted in the system, it's a wrap. No matter what dealership you go to, they will see that you are modded and blacklisted. Lots of guys run JB4 tuner because it ghosts the system and even then they have to completely remove the unit before even going in for an oil change or anything. Audi ALWAYS scans your vehicle for user changes!

I think that is true of ford also, but many dealers are OK on mods (so I've read on many different ford message boards) and if you know someone @ a dealer, they can work with you. I forgot about the JB4 stuff, that does make the german cars more attractive, since I do all my own maint and only use the dealer for difficult or high dollar warantee stuff.

Anyway, getting the new escape Monday, so as cool as RS3 would be on the race track, I'll have to "suffer" through with the Sport (which I am very happy with at this point).
