Rear license plate issue

So my plate fell off and it looks that the lousy design. It is going to be a pain for me to reattach the plate. The dealer used these giant agressive screws. Any ideas what to do?

Wait...the back one fell off?! How the f does that happen? I mean mine almost was ripped off by the car wash but I chocked that up to it not being bolted on the whole bottom half...
Yep. Bolt came out. Barely screws back in, I can feel it's about to pop out.
I didn't realize there were two threads on rear license plate issues, and I meant to post in this thread:

The threads going into my trunk were buggered up as well. I ended up adding 2-3 washers and a lock washer between the bolt head and the plate. It's not noticeable, but I'm sure I'd lose points at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance judging. If I use a license plate bracket, I could probably lose 1-2 washers.
I purchased a licence plate mounting kit from Canadian Tire that comes with square plastic inserts that snap in place of the rubber bungs in the lower holes.

They can also be used to replace stripped top inserts.

I now have my licence plate securely fastened by all four screws.

Under $ 7.00 fix. You will smile when finished saying.. this is the way it should be. no more rattles, rubbing or torn off plates in the car wash.

This is what came in my pack but you can just order the two OEM ones for the top and snap into the bottom square holes (after pulling the rubber nubs out)

Sweet, thank you for sharing. I'm going to be looking for these
Now the license plate is a problem with this car? That's it! That's the last straw, I'm going to have to start looking again at other cars.

Actually, I have a plan, I have to bring in my 'Stang for a recall, and I intend to test drive the FFS while my baby is being tended to.

It's not a big problem @Mike E if I didn't change out the dealer plate cover I'd be fine

Yeah the jerks who prepped my vehicle for delivery over tightened the screws on the rear plate and mostly stripped the threads out. Good to know we can get replacement inserts. Its been to cold to want to fix it yet, but once its warm I will fix this defect.

Sorry. Bad info. I visited my car at the dealer today.
I was wrong about the upper wholes having the inserts.
They have molded in pieces. No insert. I would still go with the plastic inserts for the bottom. That should give you the added licence plate security if the top are stripped.
