I parked in an outdoor lot today and it was 85 degrees out. First hot day of the year. I get in the car, turned it on, and then go to shift in to drive. Holy h3ll that rotary shift can get hot if the sun is at the right angle to shine directly through the windshield and on to the dial. I nearly burnt off my fingerprints.

Poor choice trimming that in metal given it's position. Anyone else experience this yet?

That's interesting. I thought these had tint from the factory that should cut down on the amount of heat that gets through. I fell asleep in mine last weekend and I'm confident if it had been in my old mustang I would have been cooked alive, yet it never really got too bad in the Fusion.

Then again, I suppose even with factory tint, it would get pretty hot given enough time in the sun.

I have darker than legal tint on my windows on top of the factory tint and no sunroof. But no tint on the windshield and if the sun is going through that and on to the dial, it get real hot.
