I've found the stock transmission tuning using the paddles to be kind of slow and soft. The car seems to skip gears better if you're using the throttle to make it shift, but that's a problem in a corner. And since almost all of the "fun" roads around here are winding 2 lanes (no really drag racing situations) finding a way to get the car better set up to accelerate around slow corners is the goal. And left foot braking while keeping the revs up at 2k seems to do the trick-I can get it to hop into first and pull hard whereas I can't shift it into first with the paddles. The only problems are the steering column obstructing the brake pedal from my left knee and getting used to the jump when I let off the brakes in mid corner (it can take off a little abruptly). Someday I'll tune it and get better shifting overall...
