Glad to be on the forum. I purchased my wife a 2019' Fusion Sport November of 2021. I had been looking for the right one for 2 years, and I found one at a Carmax in Tallahassee, FL of all places with 6800 miles on it in like new condition. Anyway, flew down the next day, and drove it back to North Georgia. This car replaced her 2011 Fusion V6 (not sport) that she had driven for the last 8 years. I daily drive a 17' Focus RS. I have owned the same street/strip 95' Mustang GT for 24 years now, so long time car guy. The Fusion Sport is definitely our best car. I really think this thing is the Grand National of it's time.

Welcome to the forum @revhead347 ! You've got some really nice cars on that list. And I like the Grand National comparison, I've never driven one but I understand they were incredible back in the day, especially the GNX.

Yeah, that was actually the driving factor, because I almost always do the driving. Whenever we go somewhere as a family we were always taking her old Fusion because it was the family car. So here I am going most places in the shittiest car we have. That's about a third of the driving I do, and I was doing it in an uneventful car. I also have a 2014 Ford F250, and that's not exactly practical for family trips or regular errands on many levels. There is nothing like driving an RS everyday, but my wife's big ass isn't comfortable in those seats on long trips. The Sport is just so between the white lines on performance and useability. I am here mostly to browse. I want to know about basic mods, and common problems.

Yup, the one in a million find. It's all black the way she wanted it with every option in literal new condition. Just one of these cars that got lost in the confusion of the plague. Had 2 owners that returned it to Ford for financial reasons associated with Covid. Then it was sold to a rental car company that went out of buisness before they ever rented it. It sat for a full year before it went to bankruptcy auction when CarMax picked it up. I bought it 2 days after it was listed. The salesman didn't know it was AWD until he saw the tag on the trunk lid right before I drove off. I replied "Why do you think I flew 300 miles down here to get this one?"

The only thing the wife asked me to do was paint the brake calipers. She was jealous of the shiny blue brake calipers on my RS, so we spent a morning doing a G2 red paint job on the calipers to match the "Sport" badges.

93 tune, sway bars, and 245 PS4S summer tires. You will be absolutely amazed at the performance increase.
Minor ride quality hit from the tires, that's all, but it will "turn in" close to go cart feeling (not kidding,
I still don't understand why it is this good). Well, and you have to use 93 gas, but also WORTH it.:)

I would probably steer a little more practical on tires as the PS4S tires probably don't have much tread life. But the factory Goodyears are definitely not helping much. It's up to 20,000 miles now. Not quiet there yet for a tire change.

Boy, are you in for a surprise when you get a new set of tires on your ride. Those Goodyears really do not do the FFS justice even when fresh from the factory. I have the Conti Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus, 245/45/19.

I have the PS AS 3+ for winter, and they are honestly 90% as good as PS4S's in turn in.
(obviously not ultimate grip, when the PS4S's up to temp). Shame they "softened" them up with the AS 4.
But as mentioned by others, a quality perf AS will be a huge upgrade.

The Conti is the tire I would more likely go with, you know trade off between tire life and performance. When I was young I never spent much money on tires, always mods elsewhere. I am a total tire snob now. I just dropped $1500 to have BFG K02s put on the F250 I drive 1000 miles a year. A lot of guys in my RS groups buy PS4S tires to track their cars. That's just not a suitable expenditure on a car that is strictly driven on the street, and mostly by my wife who is intimidated by the power it has from the factory. I was watching reviews of the car before I bought it, and the reviewer was always saying "Well, it has trouble getting off the line," and I just wanted to scream, "It's a 4000+lb car with shitty tires, of course it has trouble getting off the line." To be honest, I am completely satisfied with the Michelin Super Sports that my RS came with. When they wore out at 29,000 miles, I replaced them with the exact same tire.

Those who have these Conti's, how is the turn? Closer to razor sharp, or a little "mushier"?

With tires warmed up and @ 39lbs and in sport mode, the turns are tight and crisp. If you are in regular mode, maybe not as crisp, but not mushy.
