I just ordered a 23 HO PS F250 (for towing duties), which is now 500/1200 HP/Torque (and 10 speed trans).

The non HO did a best of 6.1, 0-60 (back in 2000, and that was with 35's/Tremor package, which I will be on stock size tires/wheels),
could be in the 5's with the HO o_O . Would be pretty funny annoying unsuspecting "sports" cars with an 8000 lb crew cab/4WD truck.

Thanks, I kind of outgrew my 05 Cummins. No slouch @ 325/610, but I keep adding weight.
I think I am grossing close to 19K lbs (CGVWR) at this point, so kind of pushing an 05 3/4 ton a bit.
Doesn't help that the "aero" on a 7 foot tall (on top of a 2 foot+ tall deck over), full EXO'd, fullsize bronc on
43's in not the best.

Anyway, obviously not getting it for 0-60, but I did find it amusing how fast it will be.

Oh man getting the jump on some guys will be fun! The real fun will be with the electric pickup trucks coming out now. They're not much slower than EV sedan actually. The F150 Lightning can do 0-60 in 3.7 seconds which is super nutty.
My 03 was a lot of fun, good ole 7.3. Not nearly the power the common rails have, but with the right mods and a large bank account you can make some serious power.

I looked at the Lightning. Almost 100 grand with long range and towing package. Then I would need at least two 100 Kw model S battery packs (go for about $20-25K each used), tied "somehow" into my trailer. Even then, I'd probably have to charge once (on a single day trip), and with 300-350ish kw's of batteries, it might take an entire extra day to charge it all. I found a dealer in Eastern Pa that would do invoice on the diesel, so right around $66K for an XLT with minimal luxury or "safety" upgrades.

So fast maybe, but useless for towing (and possibly even long range driving at speed with a large load in the back, say a pickup camper or something)......... Yet another reason I grabbed a new diesel now, with Biden's latest proposed emission std's getting tighter by 10-20% per year for light and medium duty trucks, starting 2027. By 2032, you won't be able to buy a diesel pickup anymore.

Well I'm not sure who brought up using the lightning for towing 🤔 but I agree that you would be using the wrong truck in that case! It is really unfortunate that diesels have become so gimped by emissions. They're actually not too bad compared to gasoline except with the exception of their crazy nitrous oxide emissions.

Although that being said, I feel like with the increased cost of diesel now and how good gasoline turbocharged engines are now that most people probably don't need turbodiesel V8s any more.
