Howdy people - just picked up my sport one week ago. A lovely CPO 25k miles shadow black stock example (400A) (was a personal lease). As my avatar indicates I recently had a little girl and needed more doors. Never thought about the Fusion, till I couldn't find an Edge Sport I liked locally. Realizing they're the same drive train, I test drove one locally, fell in love, and spent the next month hunting for what I wanted. Spent that month lurking on here as well... LOVE THE CAR.

Looking at FMICs and a tune from Unleashed..... worried about my CPO warranty naturally, so not sure when I'll pull the trigger.

Done a few visual mods since getting her:
15% tint all around.
Ford lic plate frame.
Removed dealer stickers.
De-badged the 'Fusion' and 'Sport' lettering (the Sport letters were loosing the chrome rings and looking weird) (fun fact the 'U' and 'N' in Fusion are the same,, heh)
Blacked out the back chrome and lower reflectors (vinyl).
Black Ford Emblems (front/rear)
Doing the front grille, window, and door handle chrome in vinyl in the next week or two - looks so much better.
Front Lic plate bracket is getting tossed too (gotta fill those damn holes too).

First new'ish car I've had in a while. Getting used to all the gizmos and not having to take my keys out to start it - so schfancy.

I write software for a living and interested in getting into 'forscan', maybe I can contribute to the communities knowledge.

A few pics in her current state:
(when she arrived, twas a beautiful day indeed)

Welcome and nice job so far! Love the car when the chrome is gone myself. I blacked it all out...windows, grill, door handles etc.

Hi @ZenFFS! First of all, congratulations on your baby daughter! May she always know how much you love her.

Your Sport looks sleek. With your intro write-up, it appears that you stumbled across the Sport, similar to the way that a lot of the forum members here have, as well (including me). Ford was successful in keeping the Fusion Sport a secret.

Welcome to the forum! This is a good place to be.
Welcome!
Beautiful Sport! It looks really good. So does the F-150 next to it from what I can tell BTW.
Hello and congrats on the new baby girl
Thanks for the warm reception! That little girl is my world, my everything.

She's the reason for the Sport. As Engineer mentioned I have a F150 (RCSB), and a Dakota R/T (RCSB also) - too many 'coupes'. F150 is the most useful truck I've ever owned, and even being a 2dr there's still room behind the seat for luggage. The Dakota R/T,,,no room inside, but all the fun you can have with 360ci V8 in a small truck!
Both are for sale, first one to sell,,,wins.

Forgot to mention I'm in Fort Lauderdale area.

Oooooooo - door handle blackout vinyl just showed up!
I'm a little late on this, but I'm a new FFS owner too, '17 CPO as well. Where did you get your black emblems from, and how did you go about getting the lettering badges off? I would like to do those 2 things as well.
Welcome @Ocdrod ! Sharp ride. Looks like Magnetic? Looks good!

Yessir! Picked him up 2 days ago. Magnetic metallic, I dunno all the option list numbers but it's got the Sony premium sound, all the driver assist and such. I came from a GTI and needed something a little more practical with 4 doors and AWD and had been eyeing these since they came out, and I can say I am thoroughly pleased with it.

Also, looking at your post history, I see train engineer. I'm a conductor currently getting close(ish) to engine school. What RR?
Hey Ocdrod!
I'm finding the CPO a love/hate relationship. Love the warranty, but also hate it as I'm paranoid about voiding it too....

I got the emblems from a link I found here (oddly they are just a couple miles from my house) = 2013-2020 Ford Fusion Decals
They look great - just remember the front and rear Ford logos are slightly different sizes! - I was looking a little sideways at it at first...

I removed the emblems on a hot day, heating them further with a hairdryer, and using my fingers to wiggle them free. They all came off very easily. I also used some body panels plastic knives (bone knives) to help get them started. Then finger nail and goo-gone. I left the Ecoboost/AWD emblem.

For those that care I got the rear vinyl blackout from 'ggwraps' on Ebay. Getting the front grille blackout from him as well, although I think he's in New Orleans, so not sure how Laura affected him. Vinyl fit nice. Chrome Delete Vinyl Blackout Kit for 2017-19 Ford Fusion Rear Back Trunk Trim | eBay (this kit also include the lower rear reflectors even though it's not shown)

Just threw on some black Ford centercaps the other day too. 4 New Black Wheel Center Caps Hubcap 54mm Emblem Rim Cover for Ford Vehicles | eBay (Nice, and look OEM, but they fit VERY loosely. I'm surprised one hasn't popped out yet. So I'll be looking to replace them shortly)

Thanks Zen! Just ordered the carbon fiber style inserts, looking forward to that. With the car being magnetic and blacked out with the sport upgrade, the blue ovals just kinda stick out a little. I was thinking goo gone was the way to go, I think my wife has a hair dryer I can use. I'm of the same mind where I will likely leave the EcoBoost badges but take the others off. Thanks again!
When you do the overlays for the Ford emblems, they're pretty easy, but get yourself a razor or exacto knife to help push in the little 'dot' in the 'F' middle serif. That booger is small and difficult to release from the sticker's backing.
For removing badges, the best way I know is to use a hair dryer and fishing line. Just heat it up a little and work the line back and forth and try to force it in the edge. I've heard varying opinions about how much you want to heat it because some people have made a gooey mess and had to use Goo Gone or similar to clean it up.

Sorry for not supporting our shadow black community earlier ;)
Debadging and dechroming - this is the first must have mods for the black one - it is only my personal opinion

This is the exact way which I did it. No need to heat to much.

I figured I would update my own introduction post,,,,with my 'exit of ownership' post.
Very saddened to say that Carvana offered me too much, and being the rare situation where I would sell the car I bought nearly 3yrs/30k miles later for MORE than I paid,,,I let them take it.
She was a fun beast, still is, someone will love her.

For those interested in how it went (cause it was my first time selling this way, and I thought it was cool) - this was hands down the easiest transaction (aside from the originally cancelled appt, and it being reschedule a week later.....) I've ever done. Very much recommend:

Got my price/offer to buy online.
Submit the paperwork they ask for (5mins).
They get back to you in a day or so with a yay or nay. My car was clean inside and out with a factory warranty, so couldn't tell you if your car was beat up how it would affect things.
Appt is for 5-8pm Tues night a week later.
Guy calls to say he'll be late - shows up at 8:30, nice, courteous dude.
It is now DARK outside, and RAINING decently hard..... he's here to see a black car.
He does not test drive it. Just fires it up, rolls it back a few feet to get good pictures, looked over the interior, and that was it.
Signed the paper work in 5mins, gave him the keys, and a lockbox on my car saying the tow truck would be there later that night or next day.
Hands me a check on the spot.
She was gone the next day when I got home from work.
I had a few thou left on the loan, and it was promptly paid off within 5'ish days.

The car hasn't shown up on their website yet. I left the blackout vinyl on the front and rear bar. 2017 400A 47k black one from Boca if someone's looking.
I'm curious what they ask for it.
I was constantly searching the market for best price, and Carvana was always on top. When it popped above what I paid (and having just inherited another vehicle), I had to let her go.

This is an awesome forum, awesome people, and I wish I had the time to have spent more time here. Love you guys, and I'll be keeping my eye on what happens around here,,, as I can see another FFS in my future.
