Hey All,

First time poster and happy owner of a '17 Sport with 72k miles. I've been down the rabbit hole on this forum for modding / maintenance, and tip my cap to all the great contributions! With some bolt-ons and a tune, I'm thrilled with the performance gains, especially as a newbie car enthusiast.

Anyways, since owning the car for 4-5k miles, I've been basically issue free. However, when downshifting into first gear (paddles or automatic), I occasionally hear a 'clunck', almost like the gear is locking into place. I feel like I've read about this issue here or another ford forum.... is this anything to be concerned about?? Transmission fluid changed at 56k, PTU fluid changed last month.

Also, I recently removed my BB* throttle body, because of ticking at idle. About every minute, the TB made a series of loud clicks that lasted about 10 secs. Any ideas??? I'm thinking of grabbing a used stock TB and sending to Maxbore instead...

Thanks in advance!!!

Occasionally, if I do weird on/off throttle stuff, and then get into it hard, it might clunk around a bit since it really does not know what I wanted at that point.
Other than that, no real issues with downshifting at WOT. I don't downshift to first that much I don't think (I have NEVER paddle shifted into first).

Anyway, if it is happening a lot (subjective, I know), I would stop doing whatever you are doing to make it clunk, until I had the trans checked out better

I'm with @OX1 since I think his advice on this is very good all around. I will say from my own experience the only times I've noticed any clunk is, like he was saying, when I do something strange like jump on the throttle, let off, then get on it again. Like he said, I also think that's because the PCM is trying to figure out what in the world I'm asking it to do in that moment. But normally, in regular smooth driving, I'm not noticing any clunks. I also don't notice clunks if I just flat jump on it, either. It's when I can't decide if I want to go or not, that it can clunk around some. I can't really blame it for not knowing what I want to do if I do that though. ;)

All of that is also controllable with a tuner. You can crank up the pressures and shorten the response times and it'll get a lot sharper for sure, but of course all the usual warnings about the risk, loss of warranty, etc. apply there.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I just recently flashed the Unleashed 93, so I'm on high alert for any potential issues. Looking to hold onto the Sport as long as I can!
