Thanks for posting Rice. One of the few reviews that get the point of the car.

One thing I have to comment on is the continual comparison to the European brands. Differrent price market and at the end of the day, imho, buyers of these cars are more about the brand and "status" and would snub a Ford, irrespective of performance, style or value.

I believe that the direct competition is Chrysler, Dodge and Japanese family sedans that have sport buttons. Where these cars fail is by trying to match each other, the FFS at least tries to raise the bar. The others are in the 280/290hp range - where is the differentiation and choice in that. Just makes the segment boring and mundane. How can they be called sports cars when they have same performance as crossovers and minivans with the same performance.

Yes the SS and R/T have more power but if you want some of the bells and whistles, their option cost starts running away. Hence the FFS becomes front and centre as a real choice. Its only achilies heel imo is the fuel economy which it trades off with the extra power (and arguably also due to weight). Depends on how brainwashed you are on a difference of 20mpg compared to 22mpg on whether you get the FFS or not.
