Front end clicking when turning at low speed

I’m getting clicking/ticking from the front end when turning under low speed. It’s definitely not a “clunk” sound. It is speed dependent clicking faster as I speed up but goes away as I straighten out the wheel.
It happens in drive or reverse so I notice it every time I back out of the driveway and around our cul de sac.
I did lower the car on steeda springs but that was several months ago and this is a recent problem.
I’m hoping I have time to get under the car this this weekend... but it’s doubtful.

Anyone diagnose anything similar on their sport?
Any info is appreciated!

Also, I did watch the videos JRG posted earlier this month. The clicking sound is similar to his but does not happen when stationary and just turning the wheel and mine seems to click once per wheel revolution.

Just diagnosed for this - it's a CV joint and axle. Replacement under warranty. See the other thread - https://www.fusionsportforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18561
Did you recently take off you wheel? I had the same issue. But it went away once I put on new wheels. So to me it was not seated properly on the knuckle.
I've had this warranty work done 3 times, already. First it was the front left......they didn't hear anything, so i had to make the ford tech ride with me next to a building in a back alley for him to hear it echoing. They fixed the front left.

4 weeks later, the front right was doing it......had to show them again..... They fixed it.

2 Months later, the front left again........ they remembered me and fixed it.....

2 months later.....i think the other one is doing it again..... I'm not going back anymore unless it gets loud..... I only really hear it in a drive through. *shrugs shoulders*
I’ve got my 17 sport scheduled 9/24 to diagnose the clicking/popping coming from my front drivers side. Hopefully it gets fixed under warranty 🤞
I’ll post back what I find out.
Does it sounds like this?

I see mention of a video posted previously, so I am not sure if this was the one. This is what mine sounds like, and I have an appointment on 9/26 to get it checked out.

So the "outer" part of halfshaft spline is loose in the splined section that bearings run on (hub?).
This sounds like a really lame way to fix this. There should be zero play (and hence no wear)
between those 2 items for 100's of thousands of miles.

I agree... these components should be engineered for fitment to high precision. This particular "fix" seems like it is just masking the noise. I was just sharing what I found when researching this issue as it is occurring on my vehicle. I will see what the dealer says this week.
1. Clicking when front wheel is at high angle (30 to 40 degrees) & rotating is quite often the wheel end CV joint. Click is normally once per rev & generally you can feel this through the steering wheel. Can be caused by excessive clearance between the CVJ cage window & the balls.

2. Surprised if Ford utilizes a "slip" fit between the CVJ outer race spline & the hub female spline as they used to require a slight twist in the CVJ outer race spline to provide interference between the CVJ & the hub. This generally required pressing the CVJ out of the hub (yes, many people used a large hammer & then wondered why the thread on the end of the CVJ outer race was damaged). There were also many manufacturers that did not have an interference fit between the CVJ outer race & the hub relying on the nut clamping the CVJ to the hub to minimize any noise between the CVJ outer race & the hub female spline.

Best wishes on resolving your "clicking".
Yup. My car sounds pretty much like the video Judge Smails posted in #7.
It’s definitely more than one click/rev but clicks in the same pattern with each rev.

That washer install is well within my capabilities but won’t that require a realignment afterword?

If I did it myself I’d have to pay for the alignment. If Ford replaces it they would take care of it I would think.
I have the same exact thing. Out of curiosity how many miles on yours? I'm at 81,000.

I only have 16K on my car, so if this is a 'wear and tear' type of issue... it was horribly designed.
I’m just shy of 27k mi. Way too early for an axle to “wear out”.

My last car was a Forte 5 SX and was also lowered on springs and it had a CV joint go out at 98k mi and Kia honored it. So 🤞
Noooo I just noticed this the other day. It makes a click about every 1/4 to 1/2 revolution that goes away with speed. Turning left or right, I can hear it from the drivers side with window down... ugh. I guess I'm going to take it in for warranty work. Not happy. I don't like dealerships touching my vehicle.
Update to #10 - Clicking caused by ball to cage window (& CVJ inner race & outer race track geometry) can be anywhere from 1 to 6 times per wheel revolution (6 balls in CVJ).

#15 - Not saying it is CVJ clicking, however, noise going away at speed could be a result of wheel angle decreasing as you speed up. The decreased wheel (& CVJ angle) would reduce any clicking tendency.

Best wishes on resolving
Turn the steering wheel left/right while parked. Does it make that sound? The last time I heard that ting ting ting sound was the thrust washer problem on the SHO's.
Are you sure its the front? There is a SSM for the viscous coupler in the rear end. Only makes the sound when turning at low speeds, and typically after the car has been driven for a few.

Mine was doing the same thing, and this fixed it

SSM 46965 - 2013-2018 Various Vehicles - Rear Axle Noise – Low Speed Parking Lot Maneuvers – After Extended Driving

Some 2013-2018 Escape/EcoSport/Edge/MKX/MKC/MKT/Fusion/Flex/Kuga/Mondeo all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicles may exhibit a clunk, thump, grinding, popping, shuddering or chattering from the rear axle when the vehicle is turning during parking lot or figure 8 maneuvers at low speed after extended driving. Replace the RDU clutch using service kit CV6Z-4A232-A. The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-02 has been updated to include this repair. For claiming, use causal part 4A232 and applicable labor operations in Section 04 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual

Sounds like the front to me and it does still pop while turning the steering wheel with the car in park.
Mine does to, i only have 10 000km probally normal, I will monitor , does not seem to affect anything almost sounds like 5 AWD trucks we have a work when we park them same noise.
