Good evening all,

I apologize for the title not being a little more intriguing - it's 12:45am, I have to work in 5 hours, and there's nothing on TV. So naturally, instead of going to bed, I'm on here!

For starters: I'm Spencer from Buffalo, NY, previous owner of a 2014 Focus ST. About 2.5 weeks ago me and my girlfriend took the scenic route coming back from a state park a few hours from home and a deer, who's name will not be mentioned, decided it was a good idea to plaster himself across my hood in a 55mph speed zone - see attached pictures. Initially, they claimed the damage at $9,500 and were going to fix it, but a second look at the car determined there was too much glass that made its way into the dashboard/hvac/entertainment system and insurance deemed the car a total loss as the cost of repair was now ~$15,000... which brings me here, and to the title of this post.

So after browsing for cars, and thinking long and hard about it (and to keep the girlfriend happy:rolleyes:), I think I've decided to cop a Fusion Sport, and not grab another ST. I absolutely loved that car, however, she was not much a fan due to the small teacup size, and the lack of comfort. We test drove a Fusion Sport at a local dealer long before the accident, but I didn't have an opportunity to test it as much as I wanted to - the salesman was a rather large weenie - but the girlfriend liked this car much more. Anyways, I've found another Fusion Sport at another local dealer that I intend to do a much more rigorous, and thorough test of.

So, I'll leave you with that as of now, and will certainly post details of my 2nd experience test driving the car. I may have questions in terms of purchasing and will post in the appropriate location and I welcome any and all opinions/questions/suggestions regarding the car, and look forward to discussing with you guys!

Thanks :D

well its certainly not a whale. Its far from a go kart as well, but it handles nicely, and gets up to speed pretty **** good too. you will enjoy it. but try to keep that one away from the deer.
Hello spencer. And welcome

I traded my 2012 speed3 in for this. Yes it's large and in charge but the overall comfort and power this car has is worth it to me. I plan on auto xing this beast.

If you like the ST then why not an RS?
How big are the Deer where you live and what do you feed them?:) That looks like you hit an Elk.
The thing about the Sport is that it will never be a car with the go cart feel to it. It is a refined ride with a lot of set you back in your seat torque. About 390 to be exact. It puts a big smile on my face. My other ride is a MINI Cooper S so I know about the go cart feel.
I Loved my ST as well never had a front wheel drive car corner like it did.. so fun. I tried to find a RS but couldn't and needed a car now so went with the fusion and am not sad because the Fusion straight line stop light drags are addictive but I do miss the cornering and braking of the ST sometimes.

They have an awesome gunmetal RS at my dealership. I don't think there's much of a market for the RS here though. I bet they'll end up trading it away for a truck or something.

I absolutely loved my ST, unfortunately, it was a fully loaded with the full leather Recaro's that did more harm than good to the girlfriend's back. Trust me, I would have either grabbed another ST or an RS if it was entirely up to me... but again, I do have to try and make her happy....

In good news, I test drove a Fusion Sport last night and absolutely loved it. For some reason, it felt smoother than the one I previously test drove... not sure why, but in a good way. As of now, I have them working numbers on a Shadow Black 401A package. I had high hopes for the ST... had the parts and tune to consider it "stage 3", but never had time to put them on. Because of that, I have even higher hopes for the Fusion Sport, and plan to make this thing absolutely mental.
