Brake Upgrades

Holy mother of jesus this has been an ordeal. I've spent hours gathering this information and decided to share it with whoever may still even own this car, I've seen only one other in person and am having trouble finding definitive information on Reddit threads and even this forum for the car.
I have a 2018 Fusion Sport, I've been looking for a brake and rotor front/rear kit, more in particular the Powerstop Z23 kit with the carbon fiber ceramic pads.
If you're looking for a brake upgrade kit, BE EXTREMELY WARY.
Almost every popular site I've looked into has had a completely different Part# for the Powerstop kit. Powerstop says the correct kit is K8975, but other sites say it is K7231, which is for Lincoln (MKz?) models. I'm fairly certain that the K7231 will also fit perfectly fine on the FuSpo. From what I can gather, certain Lincoln models have a lot of interchangeable parts with the FuSpo, but I've also gotten part #'s for other Fusions.
Other Fusion trim's front rotors will not fit on the Fusion Sport, the Fusion Sport has a front rotor diameter of 345 mm compared to other trim's 300 mm (could be wrong on exact spec.)
It's very frustrating that so many different auto sites I've searched do not have a specific filter for this.
If you are also looking for brake kits, and you also lie between the beginner and intermediate spectrum of mechanical knowledge like myself, don't try to figure it out on your own. I am great with researching things like this and this gave me an absolute fit. I'd highly advise speaking to a company representative or consulting your local parts store/Ford dealer. Spare yourself the confusion, I've been down an ADHD rabbit-hole on this for roughly 8 hours now.

Edge and MKX use the same brakes as the 3.0 MKZ and the 17 to 19 Sport. Only difference is the front rotors is the Edge and MKX use a rotor that vents to the inside where as the sport vents out the front. I ordered mine I ordered rotors n pads for a MKZ 3.0 and rears were for a Edge. Fronts are 345mm and rears are solid 300mm. Now there is a posable upgrade, to what the 20 to 22 Edge has, but I'm still working on that. They have 14 inch rotors in the front that vent inward and bigger calipers, the rear has vented rotors that vent outward, look to be around an inch bigger but with the same caliper. I'll know more in the weeks to came when I take the time to look more into it, but like I said. The MKZ 3.0 has the same brakes as the 17 up Sport, everything else is 300mm inward vented. Far as the Fusion goes the Sport is the only one with the big brakes on the front, every other sub model uses the 300mm rotors.

Is this the correct PN for 22, 2.7 Edge? Doesn't look much different.

Those are the standard calipers, same as the Sport, MKZ , MKX, and Edge. I shouldn't say MKX, it's now the Nautiiless.

This is a 2021 Lincoln my old boss built last winter, same as the 21 Edge. Hard to tell with the tire on the back, but the rotors are vented to the outside, and bigger than the standard solid ones. The front you can see the difference with the caliper, and the rotor vents inward. I measured them at 14 inches, didn't get the thickness though. Would have liked to get better pics of the rear, and done some measuring, but I think it's just a matter of the caliper , caliper bracket, and rotor being different. Same way with the front, the knuckle is the same, did measure the center to center spread between the caliper bolts, 5 3/4 " I,ve got a knuckle here t home I can check and confirm that it's the same. The rear knuckle is a little different, but the over all design is pretty much the same. Oh and the dust shields front n rear are different, but you expect that.

Can I suggest that you stop using Reddit for Information on this car? As to these forums, this is by far the absolutely best resource for anything about these vehicles. There are a multitude of threads talking about brakes here, please take a bit more time to read and I think you'll find just about anything you need.

I read a lot more than you think. I searched on this forum for answers to my specific question, which SPECIFICALLY pertains to the Powerstop Z23 kit and the correct part number for it, and got 0 definitive/detailed answers from this forum and Reddit both, at least none that I could find. I prefer not to use Reddit, but if I cannot find anything from this site, I'll search elsewhere.
I don't just read first-glance, I'm very extensive.

Because rock auto claims these are the fusion 2.7 calipers, or at least different PN than the edge one's I posted above.

Anyway, have PN's for larger calipers by chance?

I guess I don't fully understand. If Powerstop gave you the correct 2017+ FS kit PN, are you just explaining (venting a bit maybe :)) that most sites selling what they claim are 2017+ FS kits ,have the wrong PN compared to what Powerstop told you?
I'm going say you didn't read enough. I installed the Power Stop K7231 Kit, two years ago. Fits perfectly and works great. Posted about it. Have no idea what the K8975. Can't even find online, so can't advise on that.

My issue was finding the correct part number on different sites. Powerstop's site said correct part number is "K8975", several others said "K7231" or "K7416" (if I remember correctly), yet the only site (that I checked) of around 10 sites has the specific "K8975" part number is rock auto. I then realized that some of the kits are for the MkZ/MkX/Edge and that they actually will fit just fine, even if it's not the "correct" part.
Less of a search for help, and more of a heads-up to those who may be in need of the info.
I like to be absolutely without-a-doubt certain in any of my purchases that it is going to fit correctly, hence the rabbit hole of figuring out why this site says this part number fits but the other site says this part number fits when the manufacturer says that the correct part is something completely different.
Check it out for yourself, its kinda crazy.

No, still working on it, I do have the VIN for the 2021 Edge we had in a couple weeks ago, I just need to get with our parts guy and see what he comes up with.

So the vented rears are an upgraded package? I have a 22 edge titanium I can look at, but haven't gotten to that yet. However, all online sources that I normally go to show them as solid rotors, perhaps this was also an upgrade or an option package?

Is there still an edge ST, probably on those.
Must be, but we have a 19 right now with the same set up as the Sport in the front. Rotors vent to the out side, and the rears are solid. I had a 2013 2.0 eco Fusion that I upgraded the fronts to the 345mm and dual piston calipers my old boss and I built two 3.0 MKZ's one AWD other FWD, I got the vin off the one and had our Ford parts guy send me calipers, brackets, and dust shields. I found some drilled n slotted rotors and carbon ceramic pads on eBay for a 18 up Edge which explains the outward vented rotors on the 19 we have now. the 21 are vented inward, and bigger. the caliper is bigger too, and no spring clip on the outside. other thing that makes this a promissing upgrade is the fact the 21 had 18 inch wheels on it. So for the guys like my self that dropped down from a 19 to a 18, we should be good granted they are OEM wheels and I'm on after market 18's. I'll know more later though, been to busy with other things.
This is a 22 Edge ST with supposed brake upgrade package.
Still has spring clip on caliper. I was hoping to steal VIN and go to
an online Ford dealer and look up PN's that way, but at least this one does
not look like it has what you saw.

Nope, that is the front, back looks just like what we have now.
Only difference I see, is the same thing we knew about in 18/19,
a vented rear rotor and maybe a correct side vented front rotor.

Will have to wait for PN's from Sky, to search any further.
