So here is a little back story before my questions...

Back in 95' I had a F150 w/351w that I installed a K&N Cold Air conversion on. I always kept the filter clean and oiled per K&N instructions. The thing that bothered me was the dusting I always saw in my dual induction tubes. While it let the 351w breath and really increased the under hood sound it never impressed me as a efficient filter for filtration.

With that experience when I got my 02 F250 w/7.3L Powerstroke a oiled gauze type filter was out of the question as dusting of any type is the death of a diesel. I installed the Ford AIS system w/fender mod. The filter is made by Donaldson who makes the filter system for the M1 Abrams. This system not only had air flow rates equal to AFE, K&N and others but also topped all filtration testing.

So my question is have they improved these filters over the years? Do you see or even look for dusting in your induction tubes when you clean your filters? What has been your experience?
