So I took my car into the oil change place that did my 04 Cobra for years yesterday

I noticed on the receipt today that they put synthetic 5w30. But the car manual says 5w20? should i have them replace it? Does it matter? I'm not that much of a gear head, but after googling, it says that 5w30 gets thicker as temp increases and these engines run hot.

So should I go back and tell them they effed up?

They have obviously never seen a 2017 FFS, as they were awing over it.

Yes, Ford specs 5W30 for the Sport. It's not that 5W30 gets thicker as it gets hotter, but rather that it doesn't thin out as much as it gets hotter. It's "thicker" than single-weight oil, which gets significantly thinner as temperature increases. My BMW spec'd 0W40. BMW M's spec 10W60 -- very pricey stuff.
