So, ive owned the car for about a year and change now, this started happening just a few months ago. Bascially, under half throttle or more accelration I get this nasty burning smell from the ac/outside the car. Is there anything this could be caused by? Bad turbo seals comes to mind but I hope thats not the case. Could a catch can solve this issue?

Whatever the issue is, a catch can wouldn't solve it. If it's pcv related, the process of installing a cc might solve it inadvertently if, say, a pcv hose is clogged somehow, but I believe that would also throw a code, so I doubt it. A cc could be a bandaid fix for other problems such as excessive blow-by, but the problem would still exist.

I would get under the hood with a good flashlight and see if anything stands out. Perhaps oil is getting pushed out of somewhere onto the exhaust. Have someone follow you to see if you're blowing any blue smoke out of the exhaust.
