Which would actually be quite disappointing when you compare it to a car like Audi A6 quattro with a 3-liter supercharged engine with similar HP/torque numbers as the Fusion Sport, but which weighs about 4,200 lbs (about 500 lbs heavier than Fusion Sport), yet is EPA rated at 20/30 MPG.I'm guessing the Sport will be somewhere around 18 / 26.
The EPA has modified how fuel economy numbers are calculated starting with 2017 models. Hence the decrease in the 2017 2.0 Ecoboost AWD Fusion. We will see similar drops from all manufactures across the board as they certify their '17 models using the new method.Which would actually be quite disappointing when you compare it to a car like Audi A6 quattro with a 3-liter supercharged engine with similar HP/torque numbers as the Fusion Sport, but which weighs about 4,200 lbs (about 500 lbs heavier than Fusion Sport), yet is EPA rated at 20/30 MPG.
Similarly heavy BMW 535i xDrive (4,200 lbs) is rated 20/29 MPG.
340i xDrive (3,700 lbs) is rated 22/33 MPG.
Thanks! I had no idea. You are absolutely right. The EPA has modified how fuel economy numbers are calculated starting with 2017 models. Hence the decrease in the 2017 2.0 Ecoboost AWD Fusion. Yep, there's numerous references for the wagon and hatchback Mondeo.I was coincidentally perusing my 2017 Owners Manual, and came across page 156, and not 1 but 2 pictures of a Fusion Wagon's rear hatch. Fusion Sport Wagon!! YUMMMM!!!
