Cracked Start/Stop button

No idea how this happened.

Can it be replaced?
Can I do it myself, or should I get the dealer to fix it?

Hi QuickSilver. Yes it can be replaced. Is your Fusion still within the 3 year/36,000 mile Bumper to Bumper Warranty? If it is, have the Dealer replace it under Warranty.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I agree with bbf2530, get the dealer to replace it if it's under warranty.

However, if you're out of warranty, yes you can replace it yourself. There's two clips (one of the left and one on the right) holding it into the dash.
Get your hand behind there (can either remove the radio/APIM, IPC, or maybe if you can reach, just pull the knee kick panel off). It's just one plug once you get it out of the dash.

At our local dealers, it would be an appointment 3-4 weeks from now and leaving your car there for 3-4 days. No joke.

* 2017 Fusion Sport, 12.7 @ 108 mph tune-only (early tune of mine, bad trans settings), full trunk w/ lunch, and dirty paper air filter
* 2014 SHO non-PP, 12.4 @ 111 mph tune-only, all day long with dirty paper air filter and worn out 30k RS-As
