SYNC 3 V3.0 Available

Just a heads up to everyone, SYNC 3 v3.0 is officially available from the Ford Owner website for Fusions. If you've been avoiding the shared versions, now is your time.

There a change log somewhere?

I know this update should allow Waze to run via Applink on IOS, and Sygic to be able to run Android via AppLink. Wonder what else changed though.

I luckily have the day off work so I updated early this morning. Seems a little smoother, but nothing major up front. Definitely no down side.

There was one build of 3.0 that had a couple minor glitches, and the the updates were shared in a way that wasn't 100% plug-and-play (single base OS file was shared rather than 1 zip file), so yeah most people went to 2.3 rather than updating.

This official update for us (or my non-nav car) is the later 3.0 build.

The update went smoothly. Like the 2.3 update, it had trouble knowing the update started. It would be nice if Ford made the light around the usb port flash like a HDD access light. But after leaving the thumb drive in for a while, I finally got the update in progress message. I don't know how long it took, i put the thumb drive in and went back inside to work.

What was odd was my battery charger was going nuts and there was some relay clicking sounds under the hood. I'm not sure why it was doing that. I put the charger on since i did the install in accessory mode and not with the engine running and didn't want the battery to go dead.

I've been looking for a change log myself actually, haven't been able to find anything. Seems Ford isn't as open about changes behind the scenes as they have been with older SYNC versions. If I find details I'll be sure to post.
