Any who, does somebody make an aluminum replacement with a real drain plug?
And now that this old girl is broken in I'm ready to try and get 500hp out of her.

Well cherio folks,

Later.

Cheap, fast, good, pick any two. You picked cheap and fast, sorry...........

Dorman has a replacement oil pan that is aluminum:

* 2017 Fusion Sport, 12.7 @ 108 mph tune-only (early tune of mine, bad trans settings), full trunk w/ lunch, and dirty paper air filter
* 2014 SHO non-PP, 12.4 @ 111 mph tune-only, all day long with dirty paper air filter and worn out 30k RS-As

I believe that pan is for 3.5/3.7
Not your mistake.
Rockauto has an application issue.

The Dorman website lists it for the 2.7... https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-820...20164%25202.7L

Flew is right, the Dorman pan looks like a 3.5 pan. The 2.7 pan layout looks different.

* 2017 Fusion Sport, 12.7 @ 108 mph tune-only (early tune of mine, bad trans settings), full trunk w/ lunch, and dirty paper air filter
* 2014 SHO non-PP, 12.4 @ 111 mph tune-only, all day long with dirty paper air filter and worn out 30k RS-As

Now I see where Rockauto got it from.
If you look at the application chart for Dorman.
It has the same oil pan going on the naturally aspirated 3.5 and 3.7 as our 2.7 Twin Turbo.
I would be pretty amazed if that were the case.

Wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer used a "stock" photo to show a part. Have had that happen on a part for my old truck.

But... I've never looked at my oil pan that close, let alone the 3.7... so all I can go by is the experience of others and the product manufacturer. If I needed a replacement, I'd try it... it's not that expensive (which also kind of surprises me), regardless of Rock Auto's return policy.

I thought it might be odd that there was an aluminum aftermarket option for our OEM plastic pans...
